My dog is coughing, gagging, and vomiting for days. ER or vet?

Hi my dog's been having a dry cough and gagging a lot. She had a lot of eye boogers at some point, but last night she started throwing up water everywhere. I gave her a zyrtec a few days ago and she stopped producing eye boogers. These symptoms have been going on since Thursday. Should I take her to the ER or wait for my local vet.

Poor girl. So sorry for the late response in getting to your message. I hope that your pet is still stable. Considering this is day 5 since the start of her symptoms I would recommend taking her in right away for care, even if that means an ER visit. She could have a simple upper respiratory infection going on, or it could be something more serious such as a lower airway infection (pneumonia) or even herat disease can cause symptoms of coughing. I hope that your pet is still ok and is on her way to recovering. Best wishes and take care.
