My cat peed on my new hyper puppy. Is it stress or dominance?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have an 8 month old female kitten that i got about 3 months back. I have recently adopted a new 5 month old male puppy. At first she didn't like him because he is really hyper. Now it seems like she likes him more or less. She just recently peed on him and I don't know why it would have happened.

This is likely a stress or behavioral component showing dominance. The cat merely tolerates the dog and has accepted he is not going anywhere. If this behavior continues you may have to add behavioral/stress components to help the cat such as Feliway or medication
