Why does my 6-month-old cat have eye boogers, crust, and a weird smell?

My indoor cat Bear is 6-7 months and we adopted him about 2 months ago. I've noticed since we got him that he has a lot of crusting of the eyes and boogers that I have to clean several times a day. He also has this weird smell that we can't tell what it is. I was wondering if maybe he has some sort of infection or if its normal.

I would recommend taking Bear to a veterinarian. It can easily be an infection and he may need antibiotics. It can also be viral but typically they resolve after about 2 weeks. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
