My cat sleeps on counters, not beds. Is this normal cat behavior?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 5 years old

why do a cat's sense of comfort make no sense? I am literally spoiling my cat here, he has free access to my bed, has a very soft sofa, it's own little pillow house, and he will rather sleep on the flat hard surface of the kitchen counter! Is my cat just weird or what? I have tried to place him in the pillow house, but I think he sees it as a cage like or something, he was briefly in there father placing a bit of catnip in there, but few mins later he was gone from there.

Hello. Cats are definitely unique animals, & sometimes pretty frustrating to figure out. Just know that your Timone is really not too unusual. Cats definitely like high perches so your counters are perfect for this. And sleeping on hard surfaces when a comfy pillow is available is also the norm. My own cats will sleep on the hardwood or tile floors, even in the winter when they are cool. So, it sounds like you have a perfectly normal cat. Happy New Year!
