My 2-month-old kitten has bloody poop. What should I feed her now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female

My kitten is around 2 months old. Its a persian one. I am feeding her cat food from M-EO bran, small sized biscuits, and also fed her chicken jelly from Whiskas, I stopped giving her chicken jelly because it seemed that she's unable to digest it. Now from yesterday i am noticing that her poop is red in colour, sort of blood like. What should i feed her now, I am really worried

It sounds as if Princess has a sensitive GI tract. I would recommend feeding her a food labeled for ‘sensitive stomachs’ or a low fat/low residue diet (usually these have to be purchased from a veterinarian). Some brands I prefer are Hills, Purina and Royal Canin, so I would start with one of those. I would also recommend you take a fecal sample from Princess in to your vet to be examined. Bloody diarrhea can be caused by several things, especially intestinal parasites. If the diarrhea persists for more than 5 days and/or if Princess starts vomiting or stops wanting to eat, you should take her to be examined by your vet to make sure nothing else is going on. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck!
