Why is my kitten eating less dry food after I add water to it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 2 days old | 1lb

My kitten won't eat dry food without water so I'm putting water on his dry food to make it moisture and he likes it. I also feed my cat wet food twice every morning. But few days ago, he ate less of dry food. Is that mean I should stop putting water on his dry food?

One of the things we have found is that wet food is actually healthier for cats than dry food. I feed my cats wet food only. It is better for their kidneys long term and seems to help prevent obesity since dry food has to have carbohydrates in it that cats can't utilize well. I have included a link below with a lot more information for you. http://catinfo.org I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.
