Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male

My cat was Diagnosed with anemia. The vet gave him meds to get his blood cells up a bit in a week they went up a tiny bit. Now his belly has looked bloated and has widen. He’s eating normally drinking water and going to the bathroom. He hasn’t been really walking around like usual but everything is normal. I don’t know if it could be fip.

I'm sorry that Sylvester is anemic! It is very concerning that his belly is bloated, as this can be a sign of internal bleeding or accumulation of fluid. I recommend having him seen by a vet immediately, or as soon as possible to determine what the cause is. Your vet can perform an ultrasound of the belly and remove some of the fluid. I hope all is well!
