Why does my cat have a soft, fast-growing lump on her back leg?

cat has a large lump at top of back leg. top of lump feels soft , it got big pretty fast, cat is eating and drinking but some discomfort to touch area. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed

It sounds like what you describe may be an abscess (pus pocket). I would encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. They will likely try to drain the abscess and start her on antibiotic therapy. If it is not an abscess they will be able to give you an idea of what it may be and develop a plan for removal.
