My dog can't stand up, is vomiting, and seems weak. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Labrador | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 10 months old

Why is my dog unable to stand? Yesterday she was throwing up constantly and drooling often, and this morning we were going to book a vet appointment, but didn't because she was absolutely fine by morning. Earlier today I suspected a limp, but it has gotten progressively worse throughout the day. Now, she is unable to stand and is trying to walk constantly and getting frustrated. In addition, she's not even 2 years old and is a Labrador.

I'm sorry that Millie isn't feeling well! The fact that she is unable to stand is very concerning and requires immediate veterinary attention. This loss of energy combined with vomiting can be an indication of a pyometra, or an infection of the uterus, which can make dogs very sick and potentially be life-threatening. Most towns/cities have emergency clinics which are open 24 hours/day. I hope all is well with Millie!
