I have a13 year old maltese/shi tzu mix. Lately he has been vomiting at least ince a day, and seems in pain after eating even a small amount. He extends his front legs and keeps stretching, and it seems like he is uncomfortable. The vomit ranges from clear fluid to food to brownish fluid in it. No diarhea, stool seems normal.

Hi there! Sorry to hear that Coco is not feeling well. The clinical signs you describe are concerning for conditions that include intestinal worms, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, gastrointestinal obstrcution, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. For this reason, I recommend that you have Coco evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. At the very least they address dehydration if present and start him on anti-nausea medications. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for your boy!
