Dog spay incision coming apart and cone isn't working. Help!

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 9.5 lbs

yorkie/chihuahua mix. second day of recovery from spay with no comp. vet used tissue glue. she didn’t move till midnight and then spent hrs trying to get her cone off to lick the wound. spent most of last night with her in my lap, first dose of pain meds at 4am she couldn’t get comfortable and I can’t get the cone tight enough around neck. (cone from the vet and it’s the smallest size they have) Top corner of the incision is coming up. Seam no longer smooth. buy emt glue? Is seam coming appart?

I would get a long piece of nylon to wrap through the e-collar then wrap behind her front legs so she can’t pull it off. If that doesn’t work, I would recommend a baby onesie to prevent her from licking. I would not glue the incision because if there is bacteria in there it will trap it and cause an abscess. I would gently wash the area with mild soap (like dial) and water and pat dry (only clean one time). As long as she isn’t licking the skin will heal together on its own over the next few days. if you notice and heat, swelling, or discharge I would return to the vet for antibiotics. Continue to give the pain meds as prescribed. Good luck and kisses to Jackie!
