Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear about Donna. Sounds like she has a urinary tract infection. The signs can be increased thirst, increased frequency of urination, straining, blood in the urine, small volumes at urination, squatting frequently, pain on urination, inappropriate urination, etc. Other possibilities could be kidney infection, kidney disease, urinary crystals or urinary stones. I would advise taking Donna to your veterinarian. They can gather a history, perform an examination and then advise diagnostic tests. Possible tests include blood, urine tests, urine culture and sensitivity, x-rays and ultrasound. Once a diagnosis is made a sound treatment plan can be implemented. Good luck with Donna. Happy holidays
