My cat's poop has blood at the end, but she's normal. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 4 years and 5 months old | 12 lbs

I noticed a little blood in my 5 yr. spay female cats poo that she left uncovered. The poo was not fully formed but not completely diarrhea, and the blood looked like it might have came out at the end of the movement. She is acting normal and with a ravenous appetite. Should I be worried ?

It is worth keeping an eye on future BM's. Blood at the end can be a sign of straining. If you notice any diarrhea or continued blood then she needs to be seen by a vet to see if there is an infection or inflammation. If you notice vomiting or no appetite, then I would worry and get her seen.
