Why is my kitten's mushy poop bloody? Is it a diet issue?

Hi. My 9 month old kitten has always had mooshy poops, not diarrhea but not solid. I switched her to duck and potato recipe by Nutro 2 weeks ago this Wednesday and I give her pumpkin for breakfast. I feed her handfuls of food every 3 hours to help digest her food better. The last few days I noticed blood in her poop. I’m not sure if the blood is from change of diet but i need some type of security because I am extremely nervous about it. Thank you.

The diet is a possibility although it is a little to be associated with that. Typically diet changes will affect them within 7 days of change. It can be inflammation or colitis from an inflammatory bowel or bacterial population problem IF there is no diarrhea or vomiting and she still acts fine, then I would get a feline probiotic to add to the diet. This can help replenish the normal bacteria and can take up to 2 weeks for the max benefit. If the blood continues though I would get her checked and see if you need a prescription hypoallergenic diet or GI formula diet to help
