My dog ate a food bar and is sick. Should I take him to the vet?

Poor Bubba. If the bar had chocolate in it then he could be suffering from chocolate toxicity and I would take him to your vet or local emergency clinic as soon as possible. If not, This could be a general GI upset from eating something he shouldn’t. I would not give him any food for about 12 hours then start feeding him small amounts of plain boiled chicken (no bones) and white rice to help settle his tummy. If he is continuously vomting or having diarrhea or if there is ever any blood in either, I would have you vet take a look at him. I worry he will become dehydrated. Your vet will be able to asses his hydration and give him fluids if needed. They will also be able to do bloodwork if needed and get him started on the proper medicine one to help him feel better. I hope this helps and he starts to feel better.
