My cat has raw black chin bumps. Should I treat cat acne at home?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 5 years and 6 months old | 23.5 lbs

Does a 6 yr old male neutered cat with chin acne (doesn't seem to bother him, but very raw and black bumps all over) need to be seen by his VET or can this be taken care of at home?

This can be due to an allergy so you can try changing the food and water bowls to stainless steel to help. You can clean the area with soap and water then get the clearsil wipes to clean the area daily. If this does not improve it then you will need to see a vet
