Why does my cat have black pepper-like dots on her chin?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Himalayan | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 3 days old | 6.6 lbs

Hi, I found some black dots like black pepper between the hair of her chin , is it necessarily fungus? The doctor says she takes fungal disease from other cats, she's an indoor & doesn't have contact with other cats. P.s. when she eats food I wash her face & dry it myself

Black dots on the underside of a cat chin is likely feline acne. Sometimes this can improve with antibiotics. Often this can be associated with allergies. If it is a mild case topical benzoyl peroxide on a daily basis can be helpful. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
