Pet's info: Dog | Vizsla | Male | neutered | 6 years and 1 month old | 62 lbs
My dog has a small growth in his ear. He has had it for 1 month now. He gets chronic yeast infections in his ear which I treat with ear cleanings and k9 rx anti fungal cream (prescribed by vet). My question is what is this growth, it doesn’t seem to bother him. He has had other “cyst” like things (sub dermal) on his ear but they eventually go away or dissolve. I am wounding if I should worry if this is a tumor or if it will run its course and go away. It is semi translucent and round.

Hi there! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be a benign growth such as a cyst or a polyp due to chronic inflammation or a malignant growth such as an adenocarcinoma, among many other possibilities. I recommend you have Romulus evaluated by your veterinarian for a test called fine needle aspirate which is an easy, quick and pain-free procedure which in the majority of cases will help reach a diagnosis to identify what the best course of action is based on the findings. In some cases, a biopsy is needed for a diagnosis. If it truly is benign then removal is not necessarily recommended. However, if it is malignant and it has not spread to other locations, then surgical removal is recommended. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed that it is something benign.
