Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 8 months and 26 days old | 3 lbs
My 9 month puppy is suffering with severe diarrhoea and very mild vomiting, she seems like herself but is sleeping at the moment, it seems as if she has no control over her bowls and is pooing all over the place. It smells extremely strong.

Unfortunately this sounds like Coco could be suffering from a parvovirus infection, which would be an emergency and she would need to be seen by a veterinarian right away. This is especially warranted if Coco has not hat any parvo-vaccinations yet or did not complete the course of vaccinations. In any case severe diarrhea, no matter what it is caused by, can lead to severe dehydration, which can also be life-threatening. Please ring your veterinarian right away for an appointment today,

I would recommend bringing Coco to the veterinarian. They can get a stool sample to make sure she does not have intestinal parasites. If she does they can then dispense a dewormer. Otherwise she may have eating something she wasn't supposed to and they can dispense medication and a prescription food to help stop the diarrhea and vomiting. If she continues to vomit overnight or becomes lethargic then I recommend an emergency veterinarian otherwise as long as her energy is normal, she stops vomiting and otherwise acting well you can bring her tomorrow. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
