I went to pick up my new puppy on Saturday and the pet store owner said she had bad news. She put another puppy in the same cage with my puppy and that morning the other puppy was exhibiting signs of parvo. I called to check on him today and she said my puppy is not eating so she gave him meds. He has only had 2 of 3 series of shots his 3rd was due this week. Is there a high likelihood he was exposed to parvo and now has it? Could he die?

Since Benny was not fully vaccinated there is a chance of him contracting Parvo. The best chance of survival is hospitalization with supportive care if he comes up positive for it and/or showing symptoms. It is difficult to say if he can pull through this or not because his body has to fight the virus off. We can just provide supportive care which includes IV fluids and medications to help with the vomiting/diarrhea and antibiotics for secondary bacterial infection . I hope Benny does well and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
