My dog has tiny bumps and scabs all over his skin. What could it be?

My dog has small tiny bumps all over his head and back and face — they seem to look like small scans everywhere — what can this be. Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 60 lbs

If they just showed up within minutes then they could possibly be hives. But hives do not have scabs. If they Seem to be hives he should be seen by a veterinarian immediately. If they are small scabs all over then a skin infection is most likely. I would highly encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian soon. They may consider doing a skin scrape to look for mites. He will likely need antibiotic therapy. In the meantime, bathing in a chlorhexidine or salicylic acid shampo would be appropriate.
