My dog has dry white spots on his back feet. What's causing them?

My dog has these dry white spots on his back feet? There are about 4 in total and they are all on the bottom part of his feet.

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I can see that these areas have some scale (or dandruff) and have lost hair. This can be caused by certain skin mites and fungal infections. I recommend having the area looked at by a vet, who may need to take a small sample of the skin to determine what is going on. They may recommend topical or oral treatments. It is important to have Bear looked at because some of these conditions can spread to humans, such as ringworm.
