Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | unspayed | 5 years and 3 months old | 2 lbs
My Yorkie has been very healthy since I adopted her almost 5 yrs. ago. But she occasionally vomits for no reason that I know of. I am very concerned after finding blood in her vomit early this morning? She is eating fine & doesn't have the diarrhea. I feed her Blue Buffalo Toy Breed & she has been for almost a year. I'm disabled & Teenie is my Service Dog for PTSD and other things. I haven't taken her to the vet because she hasn't vomited since like 5am. Please tell me what you think? Thx Ann

I would be concerned as well that there was blood in Teenie's vomit, and that does require a trip to the vet. Vomiting blood in dogs could be caused by GI ulcers, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, heartworms, ingestion of rat poison, or eating a toxic plant or pesticide. Given that there are a number of serious causes of vomiting blood, I would have Teenie seen by a vet as soon as you can.
