Dog UTI: Antibiotics not helping? Still lethargic with bloody pee.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | spayed | 6 years and 10 months old | 5 lbs

I am treating my 6year old pug cross for suspected uti or bladder infection. She had the antibiotics on Tuesday and today is lethargic, overall not happy, not eating. Is drinking lots of water & has a tinge of blood still in urine. I’d hoped the antibiotics would have worked by now.

It may just be taking a bit more time for her. It is hard to say. The blood could still be possible as well. The lethargy may be from the antibiotics. If she is still like this tomorrow afternoon, I'd follow up with your veterinarian. Good luck.
