My puppy has worms. Does the mother dog need deworming if she passed them?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My puppy had vomited worms but I already deworm her. But i was wondering if the mother should be dewormed too? Because some say that if the puppy has worms it'd be possible that it was passed by the mother through pregnancy. So should I?

If the puppy is still feeding from the mother, then yes they should both be dewormed. Also you will need to repeat the deworming in 2 weeks because of the life cycle of the worm. I hope this helps and best wishes getting rid of your pets worms. Take care.
