My dog has a painful, open lump on her leg she keeps chewing.

hard lump on inside of front leg it hurts because she chews on it sometimes. it seems solid. I see red meat where she chews. she is a german shorthaired pointer. Pet's info: Dog | German Shorthaired Pointer (duplicate) | Female | spayed | 45 lbs

This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign.
