I took Oliver to the Vet for right eye conjunctivitis. No corneal abrasion was seen. He has been given Tobradex ointment which I have been compliant with. He also sneezing and not eating as vigorously which I didn’t report when I took him in as I brought him as soon as I noticed it so he didn’t have those symptoms yet. I assume it is viral. He was given the ointment for only 3 days. What would be the expected recovery time and what are reasons to return to the vet?

First of all i usually prescribe an eye ointment for 7-10 days for conjunctivitis in cats, sometimes even longer. the fact that he is sneezing as well make me suspect he is suffering from an upper respiratory infection, which will also require an oral antibiotic course. i would recommend taking him back to the vet ASAP in order to continue the treatment.
