It's recommended to start the vaccination process at the age of 2 months or alternatively not taking your dog out at all until you do. the recommended vaccinations are 6 in 1 vaccine (it is given 2-3 times 2-4 weeks apart) and Rabies which is usually done last, each vaccine is done separately.

We generally begin vaccinations in puppies as early as 6 weeks of age and continue boosters every 3-4 weeks of age until they are at least 16 weeks old. Which vaccines Princess will need will depend on her risk factors, but every puppy should receive a series of Distemper/Parvo vaccinations and a Rabies vaccination. I am attaching a link to the most current vaccination recommendations from the American Animal Hospital Association which has an excellent Lifestyle based calculator to help you figure out which vaccines will be appropriate for Princess. https://www.aaha.org/guidelines/canine_vaccination_guidelines/practice_vaccination.aspx Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.

Vaccination should be started at 8 weeks of age with DHPPi and L vaccines (Distemper, hepatitis (adenovirus), Parvovirus, Parainfluenza and Leptospira) repeated after 3 weeks. Rabies must be done at 3 months. Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! We usually start vaccines at 6-8 weeks of age. So in 2-4 weeks set up an appointment. Bring a stool sample. The Vet will give the 1st DHPP vaccine. They receive that vaccine every 3-4 weeks until they have 2 past 12 weeks of age. The Rabies vaccine is usually given at 12 weeks or older. The vet will also give Lilly a dewormer and start her on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Elective vaccines will be discussed as well.. Congrats on your new puppy!
