Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Male | neutered | 5.2 lbs
My cat has been to the vets and had antibiotics for his eye. They tested the fluid in his eye and said it was nothing serious this was on 19th October. His eye seems to have swollen up again. He is eating and responding normally. Does he need to see the vets? Or will he need more antibiotics?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Puss! Sadly I think Puss needs to see your Vet again. The eye in your picture is swollen and uncomfortable (squinting). The most common cause of on/off ocular conditions in cats is feline herpes virus. We use antibiotic ointment in the eye to prevent secondary bacterial infections. Some cats can clear the virus, some become chronically infected and others carriers and have flare ups. I would have him rechecked and discuss having extra ointment on hand for flare ups. I hope this helps and I wish Puss a speedy recovery!
