My dog is shaking, gagging, and throwing up. What should I do?

My dog is shaking and kind of gagging/dry heaving and he has thrown up today.. any ideas? Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Male | neutered | 15 lbs

This may be from eating something he should not have that is irritating his stomach or a viral or bacterial infection I would suspect these are all related and the shaking is simply the nausea and him feeling bad. you can try to withhold food and water for 4 hours then introduce boiled chicken and rice or peidalyte or Gatorade and see how he handles that. If the vomiting continues or you notice bloody diarrhea, then I would get him seen right away.
