My cat is disoriented, losing weight, and suddenly blind. Is she okay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

A fortnight ago my cat jumped up and hit her head on the edge of the table, a bit later on we noticed a hard lump on her head which now hasnt gone down. Shes always been blind in one eye but now it appears that shes blind in the other, since yesterday. She also seems to be losing weight and she seems very confused, disorientated and nethargic. Do you know whats wrong with her? Will she be okay?

Disorientation, vision and weight loss can all be signs of severe kidney disease and blood pressure or diabetes and i recommend an urgent check up and blood panel to investigate underlying causes. It is hard to know if her vision was affected to cause her to hit her head, or the other way around?
