My dog has a red, swollen eye. Could it be cherry eye? What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Female | 4 years and 10 months old | 30 lbs

My 6 year old Boston terrier has a red bubble on her eye making her look to side and it's swollen I looked it up and it said could be cherry eye can I give her come relief some how until I can get her to vet

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It does look like it could be cherry eye but it is hard to tell based on this picture. This is a condition that is treated with surgery. You can apply GenTeal gel ointment for dry eye 3-4 times a day as this condition can make the eye dry and uncomfortable at times though that will not treat the cherry eye but it would just help with the effects of the cherry eye. Have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night!
