My Cocker Spaniel has dark bumps. What causes dog skin infections?

hi..we have found six tumid dark things like acne on our cocker spaniel's chest ..the biger one on her inner part of thigh..we went to vet..they took sample ..and blood for cbc...the sample as I saw was removed from skin very easilly..and when area was cleaned we saw dark pink skin..as result they just told us its not fungus for sure but there were infection ..and cbc was normal..they didnt find out wat actualy is the problem ..advised anti acne gel and antibiotic.will be thankful if u helpus. It sounds like the veterinarian is suspicious of bacterial lesions on Rooky. Many times these lesions can be one time skin infections. The treatment the doctor prescribed will likely work. If Rooky continues to get skin infections like this, then allergies, thyroid disease or adrenal gland disease are the underlying condition that allows for the infections to take place. There are blood tests to determine the thyroid and adrenal gland functions. Food allergies are determined by feeding special diets. Environmental allergies are more difficult to determine but sometimes specialized blood testing is required. I would wait and see if this issue becomes chronic. If it does, then start moving down the list of potential underlying causes. Once you know what the underlying problem is, you will be able to prevent the skin reactions. Best of luck with Rooky!
