My cat's eye is watery on and off with brown stains. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My cat has a weepy eye. Like he's crying. It's not constant it been coming at going for the past 2 weeks. His eye looks clear. There is some brown staining around the fur (like a white dog would get). There is no smell to it. Is this something that the wellness center could look at?

Common causes of the symptoms you have describe include blocked tear duct, allergies, bacterial or viral infection, among a few others. Any vet can easily take a look and decide on an appropriate treatment. I would recommend calling the specific wellness center you are interested in to see if this is a service they can provide. The experts at Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach do not have direct access to various clinics, even if they are associated with PetCo.
