Is my pet's skin issue ringworm or a fungal infection? How to treat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Bobtail | Female | spayed

Hello, would you please help me identify this condition and how to treat it, please? I suspect it's some type of a fungal infection, perhaps ringworm, but I'm not sure.

Thank you for providing pictures. Unfortunately, even with your excellent pictures it is difficult to diagnose skin conditions without a microscopic analysis. My best advice would be to take Lucy in to see a veterinarian as soon as you can for a diagnosis and a treatment plan. Form the appearance of the lesions it does seem very likely it could be a fungal infection. This will be treated with a topical shampoo prescribed by a veterinarian. Best of luck to you both and please ask any further questions you may have. We are here to help.
