My baby rabbit had diarrhea, now barely pooping. Is he constipated?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 3 days old | 2 lbs

We brought our baby home on Wednesday night and on Friday morning he had significant diarrhoea. We took him to the vets and he had an antibiotic shot and we've tried to give him fibre paste. I have only found one small dropping since then. What should I do? He has started eating a bit more today and is drinking and weeing but I've read that consipation can kill rabbits. What should I do?

It can take 24-48 hours after some severe diarrhea to start seeing the normal droppings again, this is because of the emptying of the gastrointestinal tract. if he is eating normally just continue the treatment that was given to you by your vet and he should be fine.
