Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 9 years and 6 months old | 3.6 lbs

Toby , male , yorkshire terrier toy , 9 years old has been diagnosed with kennel cough a week and a few says ago . The vet prescribed him 5 days with 2 pills of antibiotics a day after wich he seemed better , much more active and much less coughing . Since yesterday he has been coughing this white foamy saliva and has been feeling low . What should I do ? Do I need to visit the vet again?

Hello and thanks for posting! It sounds like Toby didn't quite get over his kennel cough. I would call your veterinarian tomorrow and tell them what is happening. He may need to visit the vet again for a recheck and more of or a different antibiotic. I hope this helps and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
