Swollen nose and ears are suspicious of allergies. This can happen due to an allergic reaction to a bee sting, other insect bite, drugs, plants, or something else. Swelling of the face can also happen in more severe conditions where the inside of the blood vessels are inflamed due to an infection, or other internal condition. For this reason, it's best to take him to the vet for a proper diagnosis and treatment. The biting behavior is due to pain associated with the swelling, so the vet will be able to at-least give medication to take down the swelling. I hope that helps and he gets better soon.
