Why does my kitten have nosebleeds, painful bump, and balance issues?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 20 days old | 4.5 lbs

My kitten has been having nose bleeds for weeks and has now developed a red bump on her nose. It has appeared in the past 2 days, grown rapidly and is causing her pain. She and her sister have both been showing strange unrelated symptoms too, like balance issues and significantly delayed reactions, but this minute I'm more worried about the nose

Nose bleeds, balance issues and a growth on the nose are very worrisome signs that should be examined by your vet ASAP. Infections, systemic illness, neurologic issues, toxicity, something stuck in the nasal cavity, growths, tumors, etc can all be possible causes which would benefit from a complete exam. Your vet may recommend additional tests such as taking a sample of any growths, bloodwork, and looking in the nose itself to try and find the cause.
