Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 3 years and 1 month old | 9 lbs
in the past year my 3 year old adopted stray cat developed a distortion on her left cornea. there is no color or fog to but looks like a wrinkle or flat area. when I first noticed it, I took her to the vet. they put dye in to see if it was a tear or scratch but it was not. no diagnosis.6 months later it has not changed that I can tell, but now her right eye is starting to show the same thing. She does not have any tearing or discharge and her eyes don't appear to bother her. any ideas?

Without seeing it I’m just giving ideas. Cats, especially strays or shelter cats may develop chronic changes to their corneas due to infection with feline herpes virus. It can happen even without signs of respiratory disease. There are drops and sometimes oral antiviral medications that can help this. I would plan a follow up appointment with your veterinarian. If they don’t have a diagnosis you may consider requesting a referral to a veterinary ophthalmologist. Good luck and thanks for using Pet Coach.
