My kitten fell, acting normal but has a head bump. Concussion risk?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 6 lbs

I 2 14 to 15 week old kittens and one jumped off of the top of our kitchen cupboard and took a hard fall. He's playing and acting like normal and I poked him a bit to see if he had any sore spots and he seemed fine but he has a little red bump/scrape on his head above his eyes. He seems despite that but I'm a little worried. Will he be ok? Is there risk of concussion? Sorry about the pictures it's hard to get them to stay still for long

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I understand your concern! Cats are resilient! If Forbes isn't limping and is acting like himself he is probably fine. If he had a concussion you would have known right away! I would monitor him through out the day and if anything changes have him seen by your Veterinarian. The scrape from the fall will heal! I hope this helps and have a great day!
