Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could certainly be a UTI. Other possibilities include urinary tract stones, feline lower urinary tract disease, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have Simba evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and possible treatment. Further diagnostics include a urinalysis, urine culture and some form of abdominal imaging such as abdominal ultrasound. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a good night!

Hello. Blood in the urine is a sign of infection, inflammation ( cystitis ) or stones/crystals ( urolithiasis ). You should see your veterinarian as soon as possible, especially since Rolo is an older kitty. Depending on the cause of the blood in the urine, which can be determined by a urinalysis with culture, the appropriate treatment will be started. Hopefully, Rolo will be doing great very soon. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

This could indicate an issue such as a urinary tract infection which should be checked out by your vet. Inflammation, infection, injuries, etc can all be possible causes. Bringing in a sample of Xena's urine along with Xena to your appointment can help determine the cause and treatment options.
