Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 months and 10 days old | 3.9 lbs
Looking for a second opinion. My 3 month old kitten has been lethargic for 4 days.He was slightly dehydrated. took him to the emergency last night. They are not sure of what is wrong. He is up to date on his shots. Tested negative to feline aids and FeLV. they put him on two antibiotics. He is strictly indoors. What I researched of his results is that his white cell count is extremely high and his red blood count is low. He is anemic. We don't have fleas. His temp was 104.5. His pulse was 250.

Poor Jasper! In addition to antibiotics, I would start Jasper on an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory) to help with the fever, if they have not already done so, since his kidney values are normal. It does happen occasionally that we see a cat that is obviously experiencing symptoms of a severe infection or inflammatory response, but we are unable to locate the source of the infection. If abdominal radiographs and ultrasound were not done, this is something additional that could potentially help discover the source of the infection. At this point, make sure he is eating, get the antibiotics into him, ask for pain medication like an nsaid (metacam, onsiar, etc.) or an opiate (buprenorphine) if they didn't send you with one, and give him time. Best of luck!
