What causes a black spot on my dog's penis after an infection?

My dog has an infection on his penis, I don't remember him having a black spot on the tip of his sheath, does the infection cause a black spot to occur cause of the infection? I've been giving him dyoxocylin 30 mg a day for 10 days .

I am sorry to hear about your pup! if the area had been inflammed we can see something called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation which can leave darker patches of skin. If the area is not raised or a different texture than the rest of the skin, I would just monitor the dark skin . If the area seems scabbed or is raised like a mole, then an exam at your vet would be recommended.
