My cat's chin bumps return after antibiotics. What can I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2 years and 6 months old | 10 lbs

My cat keeps getting red bumps on her chin and bottom lip that fills with liquid. I brought her to vet several times and she got a antibiotic shot. It clears up but comes back again. She has no fleas and has metal bowls. Don't know what to do? I can't afford taking her to vet to get shots every few months. What can I do?

Was she diagnosed with feline acne or miliary dermatitis? For acne you can get the Clearasil wipes for people and wipe the chin after each meal to keep the are clean and help. If it is miliary dermatitis then that is an allergy or an immune system problems which usually requires medicine. You can see about a change in diet or talk to your vet about pill form of cortisone to help keep it under control
