Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 50 lbs
Was playing with my dog yesterday and I was about to toss her toy for her to catch and she jumped back and made a slight yelp sound. She is not limping but she will not jump. She couldn't jump on the bed or anything so I checked her and the pain is on her left thigh. its been a day and she is definitely moving better but it's like a half jump and she seems very cautious in her movements. Any ideas what it could be and how serious?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would be concern about a soft tissue injury or a back injury. I recommend taking her to a vet to diagnose the source of the pain and start her on medications. If you can't take her to a vet I would recommend rest for 7 days- that's no running, jumping, and playing- leash walk only. Please do not give any over the counter medications as it could make her more sick. Good luck and kisses to Maggie!
