Mini American shepherd puppy's eyes look off-center. Is this normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature American Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 29 days old

We are adopting a beautiful mini American shepherd. He is currently four weeks (will come home at 8) but I keep looking at this picture and thinking his eyes seem "off" like maybe they are looking a little off center. I have seen him in person and think the same thing. Especially when I look at his brothers and sisters. The seller says it's normal but I wanted to get an experts opinion. We will also take him to a vet when he comes home, but I am anxious to make sure he's ok! Does he look ok?

Hello, subjectively his eyes do appear a little wider than expected. This may just be a variance of normal especially if he otherwise seems to be doing well and growing just like the rest of the litter. I would have him examined by a veterinarian prior to making the commitment of keeping him to ensure every checks out ok both visually and neurologically. It could be that his conformation may correct as he develops with time. Hope this helps
