What's the best way to care for and feed orphaned newborn puppies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 2 days old

We're feeding dogs in our community pound for 2 weeks now, neglected by our local government. 1 dog was pregnant when she was admitted in the pound& we didnt know she was pregnant at first. When we came at the pound the other day, we saw 3 puppies, one was dead, other is okay &the other one fell on a pipe. It took me &my sister over 3 hours to get the puppy out. Mama dog was claimed by the owner & owner left the puppies. Now we don't have any idea how to properly for newborn puppies? Thanks!

Oh no, those poor puppies! How lovely of you to look after the puppies. You will have to bottle feed them, and first thing you need to get is puppy formula replacer. You can get it from a pet store or a vet's office. I will put a link below on how to raise orphan puppies. Keep in mind it is intensive the first couple of weeks, and will take a lot of your time. I hope this helps! http://www.2ndchance.info/orphanpuppy.htm
