Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Male | neutered | 3 years and 9 months old | 80 lbs
Brought home a 2 1/2 month old female pup today who has 6 days left of medicine for coccidia. I have a 4 yr old goldendoodle who had giarda when he was a pup. Shelter said keep them separated for 2 weeks this is nearly impossible and it's mayhem right now. If we keep interaction minimal and the new pup crated do I have anything to worry about as in my 4 year old getting sick????

Hello, & thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I do not think you have too much to worry about. Coccidia is primarily a problem with the very young, so your older dog should be fine. They can be & play together, but I would, just in case, be as scrupulous as possible picking up all dog waste & disposing of it . Bathing the puppy 1-2 times weekly will also help to prevent any possible spread of the coccidia. Take care.
