Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd - miniature | Male | unneutered | 26 lbs
My dog has had consistent red eyes since we got him at 3 months old. Today we saw this odd finding in his eye. His right eye is the only symptomatic one as his left eye is perfectly normal. Does this look normal?

It looks like a scar on the cornea although without examining him myself with an ophthalmoscope it is hard for me to say for sure. Usually those scars are due to an old injury to the cornea. My best recommendation is to get him to your vet for an exam so they can look at the eye thoroughly with a scope. It does not look serious to me at this time but again, hard for me to be sure just by looking at a photo. Aussies are known for having eye issues so it would be better to be safe than sorry and just have it checked out. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
